My son sent me a link to a “spiritual” YouTube video discussing manifestation and desires. Is this BS or not? This was my reply.
We are the Son of God, the Christ. We were created by God in His image. He is Mind and Spirit. We are Mind and Spirit. He is eternal. We are eternal. He creates by extension. We create by extension. The only difference between us is that God created us. He is our Father. We are His Son. So what is this noneternal world we seem to be living in? What is this noneternal body we seem to be occupying? What is this noneternal personality self we think we are? We wished to be special. God could not entertain that thought because how could there be the idea of specialness in perfect Oneness? Specialness could not happen in reality, so we decided to fall asleep and dream of specialness. In the Bible it says Adam fell asleep but never does it mention him waking. So in the quest for an experience of specialness, in our dream, we made a world to be special in, a body and a little personality self to be special with. Through a bunch of elaborate “ego logic” we have now come to believe that we are bodies, with individual personality selves with needs and desires in an illusory world. In reality, we are the dreamer of the dream but we have come to believe that we are victims of the dream. Long story short. So we can keep playing the illusion dream game, where we are vulnerable powerless victims, trying to get our little personality selves needs and desires met and trying to stave off disaster and attack. Or we can take a trip with the Holy Spirit where we learn that none of this is real. We can retrace our steps back to the beginning where we can choose again, this time for God. There is a whole thought system that needs to be undone that we made-up to make the dream seem real. And that is the process of enlightenment. Remembering who we are in truth. The problem is not giving in to desires or not but who and what you think you are. Are you the self who desires worldly things and solutions? Or are you the self who desires truth? One keeps playing the game. The other is in the process of awakening, journeying home to God.
From the beginning I have raised him at the direction of the Holy Spirit. I have asked the Holy Spirit everything. I had no idea where the Holy Spirit was taking us but now I understand.
As we immersed ourselves in the forgetting, we traded our spiritual sense for our physical senses. We also traded our real relationships with our brothers for all sorts of fanciful made-up relationships. Familial relationships, romantic relationships, friend relationships, boss employee relationships and more. Each with its own set of “rules.” Each false relationship is between two false selves. One made-up personality self with another. What does a real relationship look like? I see that you are not that special personality self you made-up. (which includes the made-up familial story) I will not believe that is you. I will not believe that I am the special personality self I made-up. I will support you in getting home to God and you will support me. Whether you say it out loud or not does not matter. You are assigning the purpose to it, not the ego. Think about it. We actually believe that we, a little personality self in a body gave birth to another body. That cannot happen but we can pretend it did. But that is another discussion. We are trading a real relationship with a brother for a made-up familial one. Why?
To me, the purpose of everything is to prove that my illusions about myself are real. It is for this purpose that I attempt to use everyone and everything. It is for this that I believe the world is for. Therefore I do not recognize its real purpose. The purpose I have given the world (my relationship) has led to a frightening picture of it. Let me open my mind to the world’s (my relationship’s) real purpose by withdrawing the one I have given it, and learning the truth about it.(W-55.5:2-7)
