We do not, cannot know anything as long as we seem to be in perceptionland. We can, however, learn to perceive more and more with the Holy Spirit as we disentangle ourselves from the ego thought system. The Holy Spirit teaches by comparison or contrast.

The Holy Spirit offers…

Death”, by transcendence, of self, the self we made and think we are.

The ego offers…

Continued participation in the imagined cycle of birth and death, as if it were real, which results in death, or unawareness, of Self, God and Heaven.

The Holy Spirit offers…

The burning off of self.

The ego offers…

The continued denial of Self which is achieved by self-crucifixion and self-hatred.

Why isn’t everyone clamoring to participate in the process of return? Because everyone who appears to be here is, to some degree, identified with the ego. Even Jesus did not transcend the ego until the end. The fear of the death of self and the burning off of self is the ego’s fear of annihilation. It is not our fear. The standing in it while not making it real, is our job, when we are ready.

Jesus remains a Savior because he saw the false without accepting it as true. (C-5.2:5)
