Salvation is the Holy Spirit’s goal. The means is vision. (T-20.VII.9:4-5)

Salvation is the undoing of all this. What is vision?

The introduction of reason into the ego’s thought system is the beginning of its undoing, for reason and the ego are contradictory. Nor is it possible for them to coexist in your awareness. For reason’s goal is to make plain, and therefore obvious. You can see reason. This is not a play on words, for here is the beginning of a vision that has meaning. Vision is sense, quite literally. If it is not the body’s sight, it must be understood. For it is plain, and what is obvious is not ambiguous. It can be understood. And here do reason and the ego separate, to go their separate ways. (T-22.III.1:1-10)

So we could say that vision is the Holy Spirit’s sense, understanding and reason.

Judgment you taught yourself; vision is learned from Him Who would undo your teaching. (T20.VII.8:4)

Vision is learned from the Holy Spirit Who would undo what we taught ourselves. It is the opposite of judgment.

Vision or judgment is your choice, but never both of these. (T-20.V.4:7)

Let’s take a closer look at the elements closely related to vision; sense, understanding and reason.

Vision is sense, quite literally (T-22.III.1:6)

The ego literally lives on borrowed time, and its days are numbered. Do not fear the Last Judgment, but welcome it and do not wait, for the ego’s time is “borrowed” from your eternity. This is the Second Coming that was made for you as the First was created. The Second Coming is merely the return of sense. (T-9.IV.9:1-4)

Sense can be thought of as sanity. The Second Coming is merely the return of sanity. Not to to be confused with the ego’s sense or even what our personality selves think is sensible.

If it (vision) is not the body’s sight, it must be understood. For it is plain, and what is obvious is not ambiguous. It can be understood. (T-22.III.1)

Nothing will change unless it is understood, since light is understanding. (T-9.V.6:5)

Vision has to do with light but not the light our physical eyes perceive. It is the light of understanding. Finally reason.

Faith and belief, upheld by reason, cannot fail to lead to changed perception. (T-21.V.10:4)

There is no reason in insanity, for it depends entirely on reason’s absence. The ego never uses it, because it does not realize that it exists. The partially insane have access to it, and only they have need of it. (T-21.V.8:6-8)

We would be the partially insane.

The part of mind where reason lies was dedicated, by your will in union with your Father’s, to the undoing of insanity. Here was the Holy Spirit’s purpose accepted and accomplished, both at once. Reason is alien to insanity, and those who use it have gained a means which cannot be applied to sin. Knowledge is far beyond attainment of any kind. But reason can serve to open doors you closed against it. (T-21.V.9:1-5)

The Holy Spirit will show us how to bring all of our beliefs to reason so they can be corrected.

The ego’s whole continuance depends on its belief you cannot learn this course. Share this belief, and reason will be unable to see your errors and make way for their correction. For reason sees through errors, telling you what you thought was real is not. (T-22.III.2:1-3)

The real world is attained simply by the complete forgiveness of the old, the world you see without forgiveness. The great Transformer of perception will undertake with you the careful searching of the mind that made this world, and uncover to you the seeming reasons for your making it. In the light of the real reason that He brings, as you follow Him, He will show you that there is no reason here at all. (T-17.II.5:1-3)

But an unrecognized belief is a decision to war in secret, where the results of conflict are kept unknown and never brought to reason, to be considered sensible or not. And many senseless outcomes have been reached, and meaningless decisions have been made and kept hidden, to become beliefs now given power to direct all subsequent decisions. Mistake you not the power of these hidden warriors to disrupt your peace. For it is at their mercy while you decide to leave it there. The secret enemies of peace, your least decision to choose attack instead of love, unrecognized and swift to challenge you to combat and to violence far more inclusive than you think, are there by your election. Do not deny their presence nor their terrible results. All that can be denied is their reality, but not their outcome. (T-24.I.2:2-8)

As we practice sense, understanding and reason on these hallowed grounds let us remember that we are grateful for those ready to throw their hats in the ring and walk through their fear to practice allowing the Holy Spirit to speak through them. The Holy Spirit’s Voice, at times might be slightly blocked or even completely obscured by the one speaking. But they, as all of us are who still appear to be here in form, are learning. If we get our personality selves out of the way and listen very closely with the Holy Spirit, we might glean a ray of reason in what anyone has to say. If we recognize our grievance and realize that the other person is not their personality self and neither are we, we may be able to see the miracle behind the grievance.

We should challenge each other on our sense, understanding and reason as the Holy Spirit advises. Sometimes the personality selves will get into it. Sometimes the personality selves are defensive, or being a little professor, or being aggressive. But at the same time the Holy Spirit could be speaking through them with a clarification or correction. We should not try to behavior modify our personality selves and all be on our best behavior. Reactions are great learning tools, if given to the Holy Spirit, Who can use them to unearth hidden beliefs. Remember, it is always the personality self that is having a reaction and the reaction is never about present day and never about what we think we are upset about.

This Holy Spirit meeting ground has a sacred purpose and can be a powerful time collapse tool. Gratitude to all who built, and maintain this glorious tool of awakening and to all who have participated, are participating and will participate. It is the perfect place for the Holy Spirit to teach us all about vision!
